A New ServantThe elegant carriage rode down the cobblestone streets towards the poorer part of the kingdom. The blond teenager sitting inside let out yet another sigh as he rested his head against the side of the carriage. Two older men sitting across from him glanced at each other before looking at him.
"...sire..." one of them began, "are you sure you want to go this far? There are plenty of middle-class families whose children would be happy to go for work in the--"
"I've already told you, I want to find someone who's not as well off as most others." He stated, looking out the window for a good place to stop.
"Prince Maddox, certainly you don't intend on just taking any random peasant form the street--" the other asked, only to be interrupted as well.
"My intentions should not be a concern of yours." the prince growled. "Even though my father had you watch over me, it doesn't mean you are in charge of me."
Both men visibly tensed at how mad the young prince had gotten. Everyone seemed to forget
A Relaxing DayInside the log cabin, a small fire was crackling in the living room. A young, lavender-white haired boy hummed softly as he walked out of the kitchen, carrying two cups of hot chocolate. With a smile, he handed the blonde boy sitting on the couch a cup. "Here... I hope you like it..." he muttered before sitting down next to him.
Elliot took a sip of the hot liquid before smiling. "Delicious. Thank you, Avery." he said, glancing over at the other, who took a sip of his own drink to try and hide his blush. "Y-you're welcome..."
For a minute, they both sit in silence, and all that could be heard in the house was the crackle of the fire. Avery glanced out the window at the heavily-falling snow, getting lost in his own thoughts. When he heard the other speak to him, he glanced up in confusion.
Elliot chuckled. "I just asked if you really don't mind the fact that I'm still here... I mean, I may not be better yet, but I'm pretty close to it..." Avery shook his head. "You know I don't m
That Stupid Bet...I still can't believe I did that. I actually made that stupid bet. How could I bet away the one person I love? God, I'm an idiot! He trusted me and I let him down. Now Edmund won't even let me see him. He says "Valor isn't ready to see you yet." I don't know if he's just lying so I can't see him, or if it's true. I just want to see him and apologize! I never had a chance to when he left. Valor, I really am sorry. I love you so much.
If only I could get to him to tell him that. For now I'm stuck with just trying to go on with my life... I guess I'll just go to the shoppes today.
As I walk down the crowded streets in the city, my eyes lazily scan the people walking around. I'm not even sure what I'm looking for specifically. Maybe a miracle. Like that could happen...
Just as I'm about to walk into a shoppe, someone catches my eye. "Is that...?" I can faintly see the black hair and the scar on the right shoulder. Valor.
Dropping whatever I was carrying, I push through the crowd to get clo
LatreuophobiaI wash off sick-sweet orange lipstick in front of a mirror as dusty as gothic romances. It tastes like oblivion, that is to say, like nothing my tongue can detect.
The door opens with a creak no private restroom could emulate. Some chick with blue bobbed hair and smeared eyeliner. I looked like that once. Ten years ago.
Getting the beer out of my hair is harder. Some men just can't take it when I'd rather they not kiss my feet or call me an angel or-
“Dayum girl, you look like a goddess.”
I gulp, taste of acid.
